Volunteers Information for Shout
Shout is a high school design studio that encourages students to use the creative process to develop a project that will make their community better.
AIGA Detroit is launching a new design program targeted to high school students in the City of Detroit. We are in need of 4 college juniors or seniors and 4 professional designers who are interested in mentoring high school students during the 3 day program.
If you are interested please make sure you are available at the times below, are excited to work with high school kids, and are able to introduce them to graphic design.
Please fill out the application form and e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any questions please e-mail Craig Steen or call at 248.591.9450
You will be working in groups of 6
4 high school students, 1 college student designer, 1 professional designer
You will be mentoring the 4 high school students in your group during the 3 day program—helping them work through the creative process to create a final design project.
The project will be developed by the AIGA Detroit mentoring committee, so your role will be in helping to explain the project and working with the students to guide them throughout the creative process.
All mentors must have a formal background check before they are able to work with high school age students. (AIGA Detroit will organize and pay for these background checks).
