AIGA Detroit is currently more active then at any time in our 22 year history. The chapter is poised to become the catalyst in Michigan for spearheading new initiatives and events that demonstrate the value of design for businesses and the power of design in our culture.

To network with dedicated and creative members representing the top designers in the state of Michigan.


It's been an exciting year for the Detroit AIGA chapter. We have experienced unprecedented growth and have seen many positive changes. Our programming continues to grow and reach a broader audience.

In the upcoming years we are developing programs on two fronts:

First, Member Impact Programming, co-chaired by Chad Reichert and Angela Lehman. They will be continuing past programming like the Design Re:view and develop new exciting programming such as the Celebrate Michigan Design Poster Competition that will engage and stimulate a broader range of interests in our 340 members and the design community at large.
Second, Community Impact Programming, chaired by Elizabeth Youngblood. The planning for community impact programming is in its infancy and is taking different forms throughout the 57 AIGA chapters around the country. These programs may fall under the categories of sustainability, diversity, mentoring and many other topics that have the potential to allow the Detroit design community to have a voice and become more visible in our cities, counties and state. We are hopeful that over the next two years we will be able to initiate 2 or 3 ongoing, dynamic programs that will become truly meaningful for everyone involved.

For our chapter to succeed in the development of both new member and community impact programs, we need YOUR help. We need our members to become more active. Over the next several months, we will begin e-mailing and posting on the detroit.aiga.org site the committees that will be formed and events that will need volunteers. Please consider helping - your contribution will help the AIGA Detroit chapter continue to grow and reach out to make an impact on the community.
