Charmin is an educator, curriculum writer and program developer with a passion for youth empowerment.  For over 20 years Charmin has taught on the elementary, secondary and tertiary levels including teaching positions in Harlem, Ethiopia, Anguilla and Detroit. Charmin is co-founder of the Heidelberg Arts Leadership Academy (HALA) and in her role as Director of Education & Content, Charmin develops curricula, selects resources and instructional material that centers youth, creative and critical thinking. Charmin holds two B.A.s from the University of Michigan in Africana Studies and American Culture and an MA in Elementary Education from the City College of New York.
