Kimmie Parker

Kimmie Parker is an artist, designer, and educator. She is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Oakland University, and Director of Oakland’s Center for Public Humanities. She also serves as Treasurer of DesignInquiry, a non-profit educational organization that explores pressing issues in design and culture. As part of her work with the Center for Public Humanities, she has been exploring the role design can play in the way histories are presented and preserved. In 2020, she was nominated by Oakland University as a Carnegie Fellow applicant. Kimmie received an MFA in 2D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art, a BFA in Graphic Design from Wayne State University, and a BS in Merchandising from Michigan State University.
